2.   General Information

2.1     What is the 5CC meeting and who is the 5CC group?

The 5-Continent-Congress is comprised of an international group of highly acclaimed Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons who are key opinion leaders in their fields. Since the first edition in 2009 in Nice, the 5CC is known as a highly professional conference dedicated to innovations and controversies in the field of aesthetic medicine accompanied by an unparalleled pre- and post-conference program. Advances in fillers, toxins, energy based devices and cosmeceuticals will also be presented by international specialists from all continents.

2.2    Where and when will the 9th 5CC be held?

2.3    How can I get there?

Access to 5CC will be granted through ENTRANCE B at the back of CCIB.

2.4    Who is your official alliance network travel partner?

2.5    What is the official meeting language and will there be simultaneous translation?

The official language of the meeting is English. Simultaneous translation to Spanish will be provided on all days in all lecture rooms. Translation receivers and headphones for the translations are available at the rental station on Level P1 (between rooms 112 and 111). Kindly note that a deposit will be held until the return of the translation sets.

2.6    Can I buy food and beverages at the conference?

Sure. The 5CC cafeteria offering food and beverages will be open during all conference days in the foyer or in the industry exhibition.

2.7    Do you offer child care?

Unfortunately not, please ask the concierge at your hotel for options.

2.9    What to wear for the meeting?

We suggest business casual attire for the meeting. Please bring also a sweater or jacket, as the air condition will be running during the conference.

2.10    Can I take pictures and videos during the symposia and live-treatments?

No! Recording, photography and filming during the sessions is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the congress organization. In consideration of other attendees we kindly ask you to put you cell phone in a silent mode during sessions, symposia and live-sessions.

3.2    What does “member” and "non-member" mean?

“Members” are members of at least one of our 5CC Scientific Partners and have to indicate their membership ID the during registration process. Further information on our Scientific Partners can be found here. “Non-members” are not a member of at least one of our 5CC Scientific Partners.

3.3    Do you offer discounts?

The “Early Bird” registration fee offers savings of up to € 110. Make sure to secure your Early Bird Ticket in good time, as we have only 200 discounted tickets available!

3.5    Is it possible to visit the exhibition only?

Sorry, there is no “exhibition-only”-pass available. To gain access to the exhibition hall, you must at least purchase a day ticket.

3.6    What type of payment do you accept for delegates’ registration?

Using the online registration, we accept credit card payment (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). No additional credit card fees apply for delegate fees. For on-site registrations, we accept cash (Euro) and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express).

3.7    What about the cancellation policy for delegates’ registrations?

Upon registration for 5CC, you accept the following cancellation policy: We will refund 80% of the participation fee with a € 30 processing fee, if written cancellation reaches Logi-Vent GmbH before April 30, 2018. We will refund 50% of the participation fee with a € 30 processing fee, if cancellation reaches Logi-Vent GmbH before July 31, 2018. No refunds from August 1, 2018. Name changes are possible with a € 30 processing fee until July 31, 2018. No name changes are possible after August 1, 2018.

3.8    What if I did not receive my confirmation letter after my registration?

If you did not receive an email with your attendee confirmation letter, please contact hannah_wolff(at)logi-vent.de.

3.9    How can I get an invitation letter?

International participants please contact hannah_wolff(at)logi-vent.de to request an invitation letter.

4.3    Who will attend 5CC 2018?

More than 1,000 KOLs, surgeons, plastic surgeons, dermatologists, physicians, specialists, clinical practitioners and registered nurses from around the globe will attend this high-level medical meeting.

4.4    How do you ensure continuous frequenting of the booths in the industry exhibition?

The industry exhibition and lecture rooms will be located on the same floor, ensuring short distances for the delegates. Complimentary coffee breaks for delegates, faculty and industry as well as the cafeteria, offering warm lunch in the industry exhibiton, will ensure continuous frequenting of the booths.

4.5    My company is interested in becoming an Industry Partner/exhibitor. How can we apply?

4.6    How will booth spaces be assigned?

Booths are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Mobile Booths will be allocated at the discretion of the organizer. The organizers, however, reserve the right to change the location and layout of the spaces previously confirmed to the exhibitor, if necessary. Confirmed spaces may also be released at prior notification if the exhibitor fails to settle any invoice in due time. Please download the most current floor plan.

4.7    What are the set-up and dismantling dates and times as well as conference key dates?

Tentative set-up, dismantling and exhibition times can be found in the following. Please note that this is a tentative schedule only. All times are to be confirmed in the Technical Manual, which will be available in May 2018.

4.8    Does my exhibitor badge grant access to the scientific sessions?

Yes, unlike other conferences, we gladly invite our Industry Partners and Corporate Professionals to join all scientific sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No access, however, will be granted to the Residents & Fellows Day and the Teaching Courses on Thursday.

4.9    Where can I get further information on the Industry Partnership?

5.   Accommodation, Tours and Events

5.1    How can I book a hotel room?

Please find a listing of 5 and 4-star hotels offering discounted rates during 5CC 2018 here. For reservations please contact hannah_wolff(at)logi-vent.de by March 30, 2018. We highly encourage you to arrange your hotel booking as early as possible, as rooms may sell out.

5.2    Do you offer shuttles from the hotels to the CCIB?

Sorry, we will not be offering hotel shuttles to the CCIB as most hotels are in walking distance.

5.3    Do you offer tours for my accompanying person(s)?

Yes, we offer several day and half day tours and activities during the conference days August 30 - September 2, 2018. Further information can be found here.

5.4    Are there any evening events planned during the conference?

Yes, there will be an Opening Get-together in the CCIB on Thursday, August 30, 2018, which will be open to all delegates, the faculty and Industry Partners. In addition, we are planning a Networking Reception on Friday, August 31, 2018. More information on the location, program and prices will be available soon.
 

6.   Certification

6.1    Is 5CC accredited for Continuing Medical Education (CME)?

5CC is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). For more information please visit the UEMS website.

6.2    How many CME credits are available for the 9th 5CC?

The 9th 5-Continent-Congress, Barcelona, Spain, 30/08/2018-02/09/2018 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 27 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

6.3    How do I claim CME?

All attendees are obliged to check-in once they access a session and to check-out upon exiting the session rooms. CME credits will be granted for visited (= attendance at least 60 minutes) sessions only! In order to receive your CME credits and certificates, you need to complete the online evaluation after 5CC. Upon completion of the survey, you will receive a link to download your certificates. In order to obtain your CME credits, please contact your national authorities in your country of residency to validate the European CME credits and to convert them to your national CME credits. Afterwards, please send your certificate of attendance to your national authorities.
 

7.   Faculty

7.1    I am an invited speaker at 5CC- do I have to register for the congress?

As an invited speaker, you are automatically registered for the congress and your delegate fee will be gladly covered. Faculty badges will be pre-printed and ready for pick-up at the registration desk beginning on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 14.00h.  Avoid long lines and pick up your badge early!

7.2    Abstracts

We will publish the abstracts of lectures from our faculty in the 5CC Abstract Journal. If you’d like to have yours included, please send the abstract of each accepted lecture (max. 300 words as MS-Word document) to hannah_wolff(at)logi-vent.de by May 31, 2018.

7.3    How and where can I submit my presentation(s)?

We’d be happy to receive your presentation(s) via email to olaf_struempler(at)video-art.de up to four weeks before the 5CC meeting. If you prefer to submit your presentation(s) at the speakers ready room (Media Check) on-site, please make sure to do so at least 1.5 hours before your lecture.

7.4    Who can answer technical/general questions about my lecture or 5CC on-site? 

Our technical staff will be in the speakers ready room (Media Check) to support you with any technical question you may have. For general questions on 5CC please contact our Logi-Vent staff at the registration or send an email to hannah_wolff@logi-vent.de.

8.   5CC Abstract Award

8.1    Who can submit an abstract for the 5CC Abstract Award?

The organizers invite scientists, clinicians and researchers to submit their abstract(s) for the 5CC Abstract Award. Abstracts from industry representatives will not be considered for the 5CC Abstract Award and the financial price.

8.2    Which topics can be covered?

We accept abstracts on the following topics:

  • Energy-Based Devices
  • Aesthetic Dermatology
  • Innovations

8.3    Who will be awarded?

The best abstract on each topic will receive a certificate and a financial prize of € 1,000

8.4    My abstract was accepted for the Free Communication Session or the Poster Session- do I have to register for the congress to present?

Yes, presenters for the 5CC Abstract Award are not being considered as faculty and have to register for the congress in advance. Only abstracts from registered 5CC delegates will be considered.

8.5    What is the deadline for abstract submission and what else needs to be considered?

The abstract submission deadline is May 31, 2018; the abstract evaluation deadline is June 30, 2018. For further important information and the terms & conditions, please refer to the 5CC Abstract Award subpage or contact hannah_wolff(at)logi-vent.de. Please make sure to be fully familiar with the abstract formalities and terms & conditions before sending an abstract- incomplete abstracts or abstracts with formal errors will not be considered!
